Spring 2025 Tryouts

海角社区 Cheerleading Tryouts for 2025 are designed for athletes with strong tumbling and stunt skills. A $50 tryout fee is required.

Tumbling Requirements

• Standing back handspring series, any variation of running tuck (Required)
• Standing tuck or variations, running layout, full, or specialty pass ending in tuck (Preferred)

Stunt Requirements

• A stunt sequence including but not limited to: Building: spinning variations, switching variations; Dismounting; forward flipping dismounts (Required)
• A stunt sequence including but not limited to: Building: spinning variation with 1/4 or 1/2 rotation, spinning variation to 1 leg, spinning and switching combination skills, inversion variations; Dismounting; backwards flipping dismount and/or double downs (Preferred)

Tryout Dates

• Friday, April 25th at 5:00 AM - 8:00 AM
  • Review "Fight Song" choreography (should be learned at the clinics & will also be posted to 海角社区 Cheer Instagram & YouTube)
  • Participants learn a cheer & 4-8 counts of a band dance
  • Stunt Practice
  • Tumbling Auditions & 1st Cut
• Saturday, April 26th at 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
  • Review material
  • Stunt practice
  • Lunch
  • Stunt, tumbling, & material tryout - 2:00 PM
  • Team Announcement
• Sunday, April 27th at 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
  • Official Team Photo Taken
  • Team Meeting & Fittings
  • Mini - Practice

Additional Tryout Requirements:

• Copy of front and back of Health Insurance Card
• Copy of Driver's License/State Issued ID
• Copy of 海角社区 Acceptance Letter
• Copy of transcript providing evidence that your cumulative GPA is 2.5 or higher
• One letter of recommendation from a former cheer coach/trainer
• Current headshot photo (no selfies and photo will not be returned)
• Completed tryout packet
