海角社区 history students learn archery skills
On Nov. 14, students in Dr. Monica Bontty鈥檚 world civilization class at the University of Louisiana at Monroe were taught how to shoot a bow and arrow for a first hand demonstration of medieval weaponry.
The exercise showcased a form of weaponry that was used in the Middle Ages.
鈥淭he bows in the Middle Ages could weigh up to 100,鈥 said Jesse Morgan, a sophomore computer science major from Pioneer.
鈥淭he bows could shoot up to 10 arrows a minute.鈥
Morgan gave the students hands on instruction in the art of archery, and taught students how to hold and pull back the bow, and aim the arrow.
Students then used the skills they learned, by shooting arrows at a fixed target.
