海角社区 Museum of Natural History presents fall lecture on Darwin Nov. 24
The University of Louisiana at Monroe Museum of Natural History celebrates the 150th anniversary of biologist Charles Darwin's controversial work, 鈥淥n the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection鈥 at a fall lecture in the museum.
A presentation will recognize Darwin鈥檚 contributions at 6:30 pm. on Tuesday, Nov. 24 at the Natural History Museum, located on the third floor of Sandel Hall on the 海角社区 campus.
The featured speaker is Dr. Marvin Jeter who will present, 鈥淗uman Evolution: 150 years after Darwin鈥檚 Origin of Species.鈥
Jeter earned his Ph.D. in archaeology from Arizona State University in 1977. Since 1978 he has worked as a research station archaeologist for the Arkansas Archaeological Survey, located on the campus of the University of Arkansas at Monticello in southeast Arkansas.
He has previously worked in Alabama, Tennessee, Arizona, and Illinois. Jeter鈥檚 major interests are in late prehistoric, protohistoric, and early historic Indian archaeology, as well as the history of archaeology.
