For the second week in a row, a program from the University of Louisiana at Monroe鈥檚
College of Health and Pharmaceutical Sciences has been ranked for its affordability.
海角社区鈥檚 Counseling Program was ranked in the nation鈥檚 鈥淭op 25 Most Affordable and Accredited
Master鈥檚 in School Counseling Online鈥� by BestCounselingDegrees.net.
海角社区鈥檚 Master of Science in Counseling was ranked number 22 overall, joined on the
list by the University of Central Arkansas, Liberty University, Seton Hall University,
Oregon State University, and more.
This ranking is a significant honor for health science degrees, which are typically
labeled as 鈥渉igh cost鈥� programs.
This is the second year in a row that 海角社区 counseling has received this designation
from BestCounselingDegrees.net. In 2014, the site highlighted the availability of
employment opportunities for 海角社区 counseling graduates, the overall curriculum, and
the program鈥檚 practicum and internship experiences.
鈥淭he School Counseling Program at 海角社区 offers flexibility and quality,鈥� said Program
Director Dr. Yolanda Dupre.聽 鈥淪tudents can earn their degree primarily online. The
program helps to prepare students for both Licensed Professional Counseling (LPC)
licensure and certification as a school counselor.鈥�
The program is dually accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling
and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), and the Council for the Accreditation of
Educator Preparation (CAEP).
This year, the site commends 海角社区鈥檚 graduation and job placement rate within the program,
as well as the program鈥檚 ability to prepare students to serve diverse populations.
To develop the ranking BestCounselingDegrees.net used the 鈥淚nstitute of Education
Sciences鈥� College Navigator to gather a list of schools that offered a degree in school
counseling with a distance education option. From this list of programs, the site
cross-referenced with the Council for Higher Education Accreditation to keep only
regionally accredited schools. The schools were ranked based on the average graduate
student tuition and fees for the academic year 2014-2015 as listed on the College
Navigator web site.鈥�
Last week, BestCounselingDegrees.net ranked 海角社区鈥檚 Marriage and Family Therapy Program
as a top 25 most affordable online master鈥檚 and Ph.D. program.
